So Petty, So Petty

So petty are the games people play
In the hope that they'd prove a point
So petty are the lies people talk
So lame are the reasons they appoint

So short is this time on earth that we have
to waste with a lie and a plot
Yet the fact remains over thousands of years
There are those who will let their minds rot

Not that they will achieve anything great
They'd lay whimpering in their own acts
For the circle of life, is a circle complete
Nature is driven not by story but facts

So i awake each morning amused at the world
surprised at the collective need to fail
But everyone has an excuse for it
corporate, civilised, way of the world, let it previal..

My Monsoon Wedding

I married you on a day in August
there was no music or lights
I remember that wet green august day
We married inspite of our many fights

I married you one day in August
You complained the humidity was high
so we drove on to the mountain tops
and saw two rainbows in the sky

I love the day I married you
We were two people without a plan
No glamour, no ritual, no occasion, no one
Just 2 fools stumbling on bliss hand in hand

I look back at that week day in august
and laugh at our seven years of banter and din
We had no clue what a gift we were giving ourselves
when we listened to that honest voice from deep within
